Inline Hockey started in South Africa in the Mid 90's. Growing fast as an adrenaline packed sport Johannesburg had around 1500 players ranging from junior all the way up to masters league. As always with a new sport there was little to no money available to improve the playing surfaces.

Because of having to play on poor surfaces like old tennis courts and car parks the players equipment got ruined within a year making it a very expensive sport to play. This led to more and more players leaving the sport every year. At the beginning of 2008 we had as little as 30 players in Johannesburg. After a very generous sponsorship by one of the parents South Africa has now got its first professional playing surface call Ice Court. This new court makes the game faster, more interesting and has little to no impact on players equipment. Inline Hockey is growing again and we need you support. On the 30 August 2008 at 20h00 (8pm) South Africa is playing a World Championship qualifying game against Namibia. If we beat them we qualify for the 2009 World Championships in Germany. Come down to Wembley Arena on the corner of Turffontein Rd and Marlborough Rd, Johannesburg and support the South African National team. Bring your inline skates to have a skate after the game or test your shooting speed out with our Speed Radar. Only R10 entry per person, refreshments available.
